What caused this invention?

I saw recycling waste blowing around on the streets on a weekly basis and I thought that this was disgusting. It continued to niggle at me and the final straw was when I was diving and I came across two milk bottles floating in the sea. I saw this as a major danger to the environment and thought “there has got to be something I can do about this.”
This prompted me to start experimenting and building on an idea I had. Once I constructed the prototype I spent the next few months searching for manufacturers to supply appropriate
materials.

There were several important aspects that needed to be considered in the construction of the EnviroFlexiNet:

• Easy application of the product
• Permanent attachment to the recycling bin without screws, nuts, bolts, wire or hooks in the product
• Ensure recycling is simple and straight forward for residents
• Safe, quick and hassle-free product for kerbside collectors
• Provide a cost efficient and effective solution for councils
